Why Do Pomeranian Puppies Lick People - Teacup Pomeranians

Dog licks because its the only way to express itself with people their own breed . He does it in the morning and as a greeting . he does it for quite some time and is very determined with it. Interesting subject and there's many theories. Of course, the answer I'm providing doesn't specifically answer this because Dog Licking Human Faces is universal to all  Pomeranian Puppies - no matter what breed or Sex.  Pomeranian Puppies lick for a lot of reasons. Licking is a submissive social signal, first of all, allowing  Pomeranian Puppies to show deference to dominant "pack members." Puppies lick to solicit solid food from their mothers when they're weaned, so a young dog may lick to request its dinner. Some  Pomeranian Puppies lick as a substitute for  Pomeranian Puppy mouthing behavior.     Other theories are that it has to do with the salt content of human sweat. when a human sweats through their foot, the invisible salt particles accumulate on the surface of the skin. the dog, not caring or knowing any different, detects trace amounts of salt on the foot, and attempts to retrieve it. animals will often try to consume salt or salty products as a way to keep their bodies hydrated, since salt decreases the amount of moisture released from the body.

Some  Pomeranian Puppies continue to lick into adulthood. An adult dog may lick the face of another, more dominant dog as a sign of respect or deference. Thus licking can be a sign of submission, but remember it can also be a sign of affection and friendliness as it would be with its littermates. When your dog licks you, he may be displaying his respect and deference to you as the dominant one in his pack, he may be communicating submission and pacification, or he may simply be showing his affection. Compulsive lickers are sometimes unintentionally taught this compulsion. They may learn that licking tends to get them whatever they want, particularly your attention, and even if itís negative. Other times, licking simply develops into a habit. Generally speaking, licking isnít something to be concerned about.
